Convenience meets Security with Safe Passage and ScanPass Mobile Credentials

Safe Passage Provides Easy Management of Health/Liability Authorization with System Access Control

The Safe Passage Module provides a framework for a one-time/periodic self-approval process. If required and not completed, upon access by the individual, violation events are generated so a manager can ensure the user is safe to be at the site in regard to health and/or hazard concerns. Documentation is stored with the user account showing they have answered the proper questions and approved any company terms such as an NDA.

ScanPass Mobile Credential is unlike any other smartphone or mobile access control device on the market in that it offers greater connectivity options - including premise network or cellular - for users to gain access to interior or exterior doors in and around the facility. ScanPass Mobile Credential users simply point their smartphone or other device credential at the barcode sticker and the barcode designates the proper door to be unlocked for entry.

Combining these awesome technologies allows for 'hands-off' health and liability control. When a ScanPass user attempts to access a door and has not yet been authorized by Safe Passage for either health or liability reasons, their mobile device will display a message indicating that authorization needs to be completed and they can choose to complete the authorization(s) right there on their device. Once completed, the ScanPass access request will be processed by the onsite equipment with the user's system profile of permissions to determine if they should be granted access.

Safe Passage has also been updated with more expiration settings - previously the expiration may have been specified as a time parameter, such as 12 hours, 3 days, 1 year, etc. Now new options exist to expire based on a time of day, such as everyday at 5am, every weekday at 5am, May 1st at 5am, etc.

Usability Improvements

Dealer Administration Portal

  • Viewing a customer user now shows the user's contact information and system codes for easy reference.
  • Viewing a dealer user now shows any system codes assigned to them and when deactivating or deleting the user it can also perform the same operation to all of their system codes in any customer system. Removing an employee has never been easier.
  • A global code search across all customer panel accounts is now possible from the Receiver tab. This allows for a convenient way to find/audit any temporary or installation codes in your customer systems which will help to bolster their security.

Customer Management Portal

  • Creating a DMP System Profile will now allow you to choose the profile number you'd like to use, previously the next available number was automatically assigned - now it's the default selection.
  • You can now batch DMP system profiles to multiple systems for quick additions/modifications to multiple systems at one time.

Tip: Use Aperio Access Control with Bosch Intrusion

More Secure & Simplified Permission Control via Connect ONE

Pairing Aperio wireless access control and the Bosch Intrusion platform has several advantages:

1) It is more secure, hardware readers on the non-secure side of the door, i.e. outside of the intrusion protection, may be open to tampering. For instance, a wiegand based interface may be exposed to hacking attempts, a power short could defeat keypad bus circuits and/or overload the panel, and Ethernet based readers provide an easy method to patch into the network. The fully encrypted wireless technology readers remove every one of these vulnerabilities.

2) The permissions for access are separated from alarm areas and doors, so you no longer need to program additional areas just to specify permission by door. Also, all scheduling for access times, days, holidays are configurable within Connect ONE including door unlock schedules as well. Now your customer has complete convenience and control.

3) More capability with over 200 access doors, 1000 permission profiles, 250 time schedules, 50 holidays, and 90,000 credentials with only one control panel!

4) Lower Installation Costs!
